Embrace subtle tints and raw finishes and let the magnificent texture and grain of natural materials take centre stage in your kitchen

IMAGE: THE INGREDIENTS LDN KITCHEN BY DEVOL, STYLED AND PHOTOGRAPHED BY NINA PLUMMER
This ethereal Sebastian Cox by deVOL kitchen belongs to the Founder of online homes store Ingredients LDN, Nina Plummer and her husband, Craig, who live in a beautiful Georgian property in Edinburgh. The English beech cabinets are finished in a quiet wash of colour (the ‘Natural’ tint) and are perfectly complimented by the Carrara marble worktops and waterproof Marmorino Venetian plaster finish.

This former upholstery factory in Hoxton Square was completely renovated by Mark Lewis Interior Design with a nod to the bare bones of this former industrial space. The wonderful raw, unfinished brickwork is contrasted with the honed marble work surfaces and bronze fixtures, while the bespoke cabinetry was created from reclaimed vintage floorboards.

IMAGE: PLAIN ENGLISH, KITCHENS START FROM £25,000
Doesn’t this kitchen feel calm? Designed by Plain English, the punchy colours of the units (Coal ScuFle and Rusty Nail devised by Adam Bray for Plain English) are mellowed by the abundant wood grain, which adds texture, pattern and serenity to the space. We particularly like the open and freestanding elements, such as the island, shelving and lighting, which make the whole room feel light and and airy.

While this kitchen throws the spotlight on the natural wood and beautifully grained slab of marble on the minimal island, it retains a polished finish, which looks incredibly elegant. This scheme by Naked Kitchens proves that the natural kitchen look doesn’t have to mean rustic, and that sleek island allows the light from the sliding doors to flood through the space.

This beautiful, compact kitchen is proof that size doesn’t matter when it comes to style. This kitchen blends modern design with clever storage finished in that gorgeous grained natural wood and natural stone worktops courtesy of Lundhs, which source their stone from Norway.

This striking kitchen scheme by The Main Company is a celebration of natural materials; not just the raw wooden cabinetry and island, but the concrete floor and open shelving unit, stainless steel appliances, copper light shades and exposed brick.
