Transform your mood by using bursts of bold colour in your kitchen, just like in these beautifully designed spaces

This striking kitchen in London’s Queen’s Park was designed by the clever people at Mark Lewis Interior Design, who pride themselves on ‘helping busy people create homes that feel like home.’ This is a case in point – this large, industrial-style space that could have looked a little clinical and stark without the cobalt blue cabinets. Instead, paired against the stainless steel appliances and white metro tiles above, they soften the space, by injecting character and charm.

If you’re not feeling brave enough to go the whole hog with bright units, then take inspiration from Ham Interiors’ beautiful scheme by adding a burst of colour with a bold appliance. This vivid orange range cooker really elevates this design scheme and tones perfectly with the sink-side runner.

The vibrant Hampton Court Kitchen by Naked Kitchens is a colour-lover’s dream, with its peacock green cabinetry, dusky pink cabinets and that wonderful aged copper splashback. This design avoids gimmicky colour overload by pairing the brights with lovely natural oak shelving and matte black work surfaces.

Not for the faint hearted, this contemporary scheme packs a big design punch, and we love it. Designed by 2LG Design Studio for John Lewis of Hungerford, the Rise Collection features curved tops and fluted glass and is available in 2LG’s signature colours of pale pink, garden green and electric blue. Go on, be brave!

Why opt for one standout colour for your kitchen cabinets, when you can have two? Plain English are the go to for stylish, high-end kitchens and we love their playful, energising scheme. These vivid sky blue and bright green units are cleverly tied together with the artwork and that fabulous multicoloured six-light wicker pendant hanging over the island.

Bold colours don’t always have to mean playful, energising spaces. This beautifully elegant kitchen scheme by Neptune uses two rich tones of green alongside simple white marble surfaces, lights and ceramics, and natural wood and wicker to create a warm, serene, inviting space. Now that is a kitchen we would love.
