Here at The Home Page, supporting small independent brands and celebrating craftsmanship is part of our DNA. As a small independent business ourselves, we recognise and admire the guts it takes to go it alone and bring something new and unique to the market. We also love the individuality and character that beautifully crafted pieces bring to a home.
So, when we met Aaron Hammond and Andrea Rankin, the founders of hand-painted ceramic tile company ArA Design Studio, we knew they were the perfect people to join forces with for our first product collaboration. Creating beautiful tile designs for Claybrook Studio as well as private commissions for clients including Laura Hunter of No Feature Walls (who first introduced us), Aaron and Andrea work in a wonderfully creative and collaborative way.
Now, after months of Zoom calls and mood boards, we are thrilled to introduce our first collection of limited edition hand-painted tiles. The Home Page x ArA Riverbank Collection features five beautiful motifs of the plants and insects native to British riverbanks, inspired by the walks we take near our Thames Valley homes, and the restorative power of nature.

“We all know how important nature is to our wellbeing, and we’re thrilled to be able to bring it into the home with these beautiful and unique hand-painted tiles. I love the idea of these little works of art adorning people’s walls for years to come,” says Jessica Jonzen, co-founder of The Home Page.
We worked closely with Aaron and Andrea to create a collection which celebrates the beauty and importance of nature, and brings it back into the home. Each tile is intricately hand-painted to order at ArA’s Oxfordshire studio. “We wanted to make the collection a limited edition and get the sense they are not just tiles, but a series of small hand painted artworks,” says Andrea Rankin, co-founder of ArA Design Studio.
“Supporting independent brands and celebrating craftsmanship is incredibly important to us here at The Home Page. So, we’re thrilled to have partnered with Aaron and Andrea, the utterly lovely and highly talented founders of ArA Design Studio on our first product collection,” adds Rosalind Sack, co-founder of The Home Page.

“Collaborations can be a beautiful thing and if we’ve learnt anything from this year, it’s the need to support each other. Initially we had few conversations with The Home Page through Instagram and straight off the bat we just clicked and loved their ideas. We seemed to really bounce off each other creatively so it felt like an obvious choice for a collaboration,” says Aaron Hammond, co-founder of ArA Design Studio.
Whether bought individually and used decoratively or as a full set interspersed with plain tiles for a backsplash or a fireplace surround, the painterly designs are true works of art. There is a limited run of just 100 tiles of each design, and each tile will have an edition number. The 13cm x 13cm ceramic tiles themselves are handmade in Spain exclusively for ArA, and have a wonderfully tactile quality.
As the collection celebrates craftsmanship, nature and the importance of our surroundings at home, we are delighted that 10% of sales of the Riverbank Collection will be donated to the wonderful charity Design Havens for Heroes, which works with the interior design community to offer room makeovers to accredited NHS workers who have been working on the front line during the Covid-19 crisis.
